Stargazing weekend at Clennell Hall Dark Sky Stay and Gaze site. Friday 20th and Saturday 21st February 6.30pm-9.30pm
The moon will be new this weekend meaning the darkest of skies perfect for seeing the milky way, galaxies and nebulae in their glory.
Join our resident astronomer, Simon Rowland for an unforgettable evening's stargazing at our award winning Dark Sky venue in Northumberland's International Dark Sky Park.
The evening will feature indoor talks on the night sky, how to observe it, what you can see and how to find your way around. There'll be a guided tour of the night sky with tips on how to find popular objects.
Weather permitting, there will be a guided binocular safari of popular objects using laser pointers to guide you and the opportunity to look through some of our powerful telescopes from our observing area. Guests are encouraged to bring their own equipment if they wish, reminded to dress warmly and to bring a torch.
Prices: Adult £10 Child £7.50 per night - includes our special homemade soup and a roll. Booking is essential. Rooms available for those who want to make a night or weekend of it.
The event will go ahead regardless of weather.
